Let's give this a try. You folk appear to be much better at this than I am, so you will probably get it from the first clue.
I am an unusual juxtaposition of categories for my type.

What am I?

What is unusual about you? (I mean in relation to this riddle, not as in you have a chromosomal abnormality or anything).

Perish the thought. I needed a new outlet.

I'm quite rare, for starters! The rest you'll have to guess. 20 Questions, anyone?

The short answer is no. I'm not the mathematical one.

A longer, more illuminating answer might be:

David's clothing signifies.
Faced with a choice, it breaks all ties:!:

:DThat emperor has no clothes:!: Telling, but no; the David I'm thinking of is a one-time king of something far less significant where you'd get in trouble for something like that.

Good answers which reveal my newness at this. Next time I will be better. These are not the particular physical object I'm looking for. though you've earned another clue.

Sprinkler systems may be employed to find me.

Is this David.....

(a) a vocal entertainer?

(b) a sportsman?

Cec

PS. We started day-light saving in Melbourne this morning so the time here is actually 8.58am. Can I adjust the time shown on this post?

(a) Yes, so long as you don't restrict that to mean singing.

(b) Yes to this as well, though I'm not sure that many outside of the States would know this.

David Soul comes to mind though I'm not aware of his sporting achievements unless being married four times puts him into this category?:)
