What do you mean by a partial word:?:
All three are legitimate words in the O.E.D.
Now I wonder if we can have:
check book
book mark
book man?
I'm starting to doubt my "check" but will await a ruling from London.

Spot on.
Check is the American variant of cheque:D

Okay I'll admit it, it was a cock-up on my part, but in my defence I'd been awake for 25 hours:D

Para, would the first one be "red" as in red shirt, red giant, red hat?

The first one could also be "big", but I assume there will be a mix of prefixes and sufixes.
The second and third ones could be "back" and "eye" but I have no confidence in any of these answers.

Little spoiler as response to that question:
Well red is ok but it is redshirt(as one word) and hatred. When i read it back i was thinking you can put red in front of everything but that would make some meaningless examples. All words have a specific meaning.

I could add +'s for which side the word should be added to(like in the original example). But just this hint every seperate puzzle has 2 prefixes and one suffix(including the 4th puzzle).

The third group's missing word is "one".

One-liner
One-two (boxing term)
Atone

I thought the second group's was "hall"

i.e., "town hall" and "hallway" but "hallyard"? or "yardhall"?
You could have "halyard" a nautical term, a mistake by para?

"one" looks good to me - better than anything I could come up with.

How about "ship" for the second one?

Here's this Monday's puzzle: I hope it's not too easy with the + signs?

Code: Select all
+ramp
+wound            4        ______+
No+
                                                     Final Answer
lamp+
goal+             4       + ______           4    ______
parcel+

+shot
+light            7       ______+
storm+

Edited the + at No.

I think my first one is probably wrong:

exit ramp
exit wound
exit No (although "No exit" makes more sense)

lamp post
goal post
parcel post

warning shot
warning light
storm warning

exit sign
sign post
warning sign

Final Answer = sign

Still no news about Para's puzzle?:?:

red????
ship????
one????
????red
????ship
????one

Udosuk, you have it. I was tired last night when I posted the puzzle and got the plus sign wrong on the first one. It should have been "No+". The capital N seems to have been a red herring designed to throw us off. For a long time I was looking for a proper noun.
