Here's that one remaining trump ...

Code: Select all
. 1 . . . . . . 2
2 . . . . 3 . . .
. . . . 4 . 5 . .
. . . . . 1 . 6 .
. . 5 . 2 . 4 . .
. 7 . 8 . . . . .
. . 3 . 5 . . . .
. . . 6 . . . . 1
4 . . . . . . 7 .  ED=7.7/7.7/3.4

Someone who was in the game, can more it in if they like.
It can't change the scoring by much, at this point, can it ?

Code: Select all

I don't know if this is interesting to anyone, or not ... but here's the table of all ratings, with puzzle counts in paranthesis.

Code: Select all
214 ER/EP/ED's  ('*' entries occur only for SE anomalies, '**' if also highest EP/ED)

These 2 puzzles are isomorphic :
Code: Select all
010000002200003000000040500000001060005020400070800000003050000000600001400000070   7.7/7.7/3.4
010000002300004000000050600000001070006020500040800000007060000000300001500000020   7.8/7.8/3.4

They were not in my list.
Anyway, the more entries are not taken into account in the final score:)

That's kind of what I thought, after looking again at page 1. For the previous game, though, there were "more" submissions, and there is a slight difference between the scores in the "game closed" status update, and in the "final state" listed in the "Patterns Game Results" thread.
Ahh, I see ... it's just one score ... for gsf, who had the "last entry" when the game closed, and a "more" submission following that (... but not the only "more").

Mike,

Why don’t you open a thread on Sudoku X or a Sudoku X patterns game ?

Someone who was in the game, can more it in if they like.

i'd think you yourself can post "more" -- at least i hope this would be allowed

JPF

good idea on a sudoku X interactive games thread to collect them in one place
but a patterns game would be premature since we don't have ratings in place
and there may be some undiscovered X-specific techniques that could skew ratings mapped from sudoku to sudoku-X

start a thread and I'll post the sudocoux results for the 44 puzzles there

good point
the rules say a player may post more entries
and the referee code interprets that to mean a person who made a submission during the game
that should probably be relaxed so the final results can be more complete

so, ano1, make the more submission and then I can recode+debug the referee

so we get a chance to crash g.r.emlin before the next game starts?
gsf, you can probably obtain this test yourself,
as g.r.emlin has the ability to post "more" on behalf of anyone

I apologize ... I missed that post. I had seen the one just before it.
I looked at the "last post" time for the thread, several times afterwards,
and failed to realize that there was something new there.
(I caught it only just now, after g.r.emlin posted).

The rules also suggest that only the player with the last entry, or a player with a self trump,
can make a more submission. Mike was aware of that, and PM'ed me that I should make a
submission to get into the game (before it closed).
I only had that one trump, at that point, though ... and nothing for a more after that.

the rules may still be phrased that way,
but are in fact more lenient
      any player can post "more"
      ( even if it wasn't a self-trump
and the player was not the last
      )

re: anomalies of Sudoku Explainer

Postby Pat » Tue Mar 09, 2010 10:21 am

on page 477, gsf wrote:ano1,
feel free to start a SE rating anomaly thread under Interactive Games

anomalies of Sudoku Explainer have been noticed mostly during the Patterns Game

however i'd like to suggest that the discussion of such anomalies
belongs in Software
    a link to that discussion
should be added in the head post of the present Topic
