the high ratings (and 11.8 never seen) caused a problem with g.r.emlin's scoring script
I fixed that so it should readjust with the next entry

a 20 clues pattern is often a desert, especially with many morphing possibilities.

What is more surprising is that that one seems to have no puzzle with ED above 3.6

In game 166 i had 18 millions full rated puzzles

that one could be the reason why Mike proposed that pattern

Well, I thought it a pity not to extend the range of the Game by quite a margin, even if the pattern is very barren territory. Having such an out-of-the-ordinary pattern also stretches some programs, and this one even led to finding a glitch in g.r.emlin.

As champagne has discovered, the pattern is very old, being a lightly disguised version of this.

In general, I note that we are beginning to suffer fom a dearth of new patterns.

P.S. I was surprised that the 11.8 was found quite so fast; on my 2GHz machine it takes five hours to rate it with SE, and gsf found it on that time-scale.
