I think the Patterns Game needs a new rule for when a game slows down to where g.r.emlin can keep up with posting the current score in the Patterns Game Results, even though there might be occasional delays due to its rating of high ER submissions. This rule should be ...

Unless (whatever exceptions are agreeable to most), a player with the top score may not make a submission.

This is what I did during the last few games in which I had the lead, and most of those times I was still able to maintain the lead.

An obvious by-product would be that games remain more competitive.

I think the true problem raising form that game is the fast increasing speed.

That game started just 2 days ago with a pattern of 28 clues having a huge potential of puzzles.

Patrice and I are using the last version of skfr, the fast "quasi clone" of serate

Patrice has a much better general organisation than I and found in less than 6 hours many diamonds, generally 1 or 2 hours ahead of me.

I compensated that weakness using more power, the full potential of skfr and my experience in the search of high ratings

I still have in cache four or five potential submissions (including self trumping) and I doubt that much more can be found in the middle of the ratings.

A 28 clues pattern with such a potential in 2 days, that is a problem for the game;
