I find out 15 ratings with minimal, but it is too late to post. There are still many ratings roaming around, such as 2.5, 8.3, 8.5,... but my minimal operation is poor, I can't find them out.

ER = 7.8 is probably not the maximal ER for minimal puzzles of this pattern.

I'm bit disturbed by Mike's ER = 8.3 proposal :
Would it be possible that : Max ER(P and minimal)< Max ER(P) ? ; P beeing all the puzzles with the given pattern.

Why not ? I think, often adding a cell with the number of the solution makes a puzzle easier. So this also can be the case for the hardest minimal puzzle(s) and all the cells missing to the pattern. Or did i misunderstand the question ?

I am on holidays now, sea, sun and beach awaiting me tomorrow
But i can tell you, that i did try the last pattern for 3 days, finding only something above 200 puzzles with 13 ratings. I dont know, how you three can be that fast. So would I suggest a penalty of 2 days for professionals
