Hello,
I have re-activated the site 'sudokugeant' I have created some years ago (see thread "giant sudokus 16x16, 25x25, 36x36 … 100x100")
It contains large sudokus (size up to 100x100), x-sudokus and solvers to download.

I had a quick look at the web site, downloaded a few PDFs (did not download the solvers!), converted the sudokus to a format I could use, the bigger sudokus are probably not suited for manual solving, so I put them through SudokuExplainer - these are the SE ratings for the sudokus I downloaded:

G36_160 (moyen) solves with singles. By removing r1c4 you create a hard one.

In fact, by removing 25 clues, you create a very hard one, SE~9. Maybe 1to9only can rate it? It's still (probably) not minimal, but I'll stop there.

Dont think I'll attempt rating this. SE takes progressively longer: 1) as grid size gets bigger, and 2) as expected rating gets higher.

The 100x100 ED=5.0/1.2/1.2 (here) took about 24+ hours to rate. I'm guessing rating the 36x36 ED~9 will take several weeks!

I'm sure the 36x36 is less than SE~10, but we'll never know!
The first 16x16 is SE9.3, the second SE8.5.

@1to9only: I think there's a small problem with SEconvert16x16. When converting, for instance, the second 16x16 above, the last line becomes

It seems that any clue at r16c16 is ignored. Am I doing something wrong, or is there an 'off-by-one' error in the program?

This looks like an untested condition when converting puzzles copied to the clipboard - the last line in clipboard does not have a CRLF end-of-line! I'll put out a fix sometime...

You can copy the puzzle from outside the code box (i.e. cursor below 11, or on empty space on right) to the top of the puzzle - this works, but you get extra text at the end!

Hello Mike,
I have checked the G160 you have upgraded. I confirm it is more difficult ! With my solver, the level increases from MEDIUM-10 to EXTREME-35. And time to solve from 10 seconds to … 1h35. It is always fascinating to see how complex a sudoku can be. But the major point is that my solver is able to solve 36x36 grids rated 9.0 !

I have read your post of fri. 28 where you seem disappointed that I do not answer your posts, but I tried to answer your posts on thu. 27. I probably made an error and my post was not published. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks you very much for your visits and analysis. I was very interested by the G160 improved (my post on sun Jan 30).
Mike, I want to use this mail also about 2 of your 100x100 grids that still remain an enigma for me. The first grid begins by : . 1 . 93 44 54 . 49 45 52 100, the second by : . 33 21 . . 5 66 . 63 . . 83 (I can try to retrieve the links to theses grids if needed). Has anyone managed to solve these very complex grids ?
