These 7 "fractal" puzzles are not minimal. If I am not mistaken, each of them has 2 extra clues.

Right, the definition doesn't imply minimal.

BTW, the list of max-invalid and min-valid patterns are redundant. If a pattern isn't invalid, then it's valid by your definition. Or am I missing anything?

You are right. It's sufficient to use one of these lists (max-invalid or min-valid). Both list are present for the sake of generality.
