What am I? (15)

Anything goes, but keep it seemly...

What am I? (15)

An easy one whilst the football is on.

I'm NOT Rumpole of the Bailey, I'm Justice Rumple.

What am I:?:

OK, I haven't a clue but I'll start the ball rolling...

Are you a person?

Are you connected somehow with a poem?

No, not a person but there is a connection to a person.

No.

Not an elf or any cartoon character.

Are you related to the World Cup?
Are you related to a sporting event?

Yes to both Cec.

Filthy lucre upsets Jim, don't you know, he hates getting his hands dirty.

I like most sports, particularly AFL, but unfortunately I'm not that interested in soccer - the door is now open for soccer enthusiasts:) As a wild guess I'll say "soccer ball"

I'm no expert either so my suggestion is : Goal keeper.

Cec, I like the AFL too, particularly when Sydney won last year... Although last Saturday's 2 pts loss to the Saints in the mud pool almost spoilt my long weekend...

Great that the Wallabies trounced the Poms the next day...

I'm sure we're both cheering on the Socceroos against Japan in a couple hours...

For the puzzle, no ideas but from this page is it something to do with Writ or bass?

No, not a soccer ball.

I'm not really interested in any sport myself and I believe this riddle could be solved by any one of like mind.

It's a three word phrase.

That's Julie's crumpet, I believe.

Any of the three quotes I've posted will, on there own, solve the riddle.

It's not a golkeeper or any person.

It has nothing to do with music in anyway.

Is it something to do with "dirty hands" or "rum"?
PS. edited by Cec 12.20."rum" added

I smell an anagram here, possibly ending in "-ist".

It looks like Underquark is well on the way to solving this, if he hasn't already.

I jump lectures to see this come home.

It's topical.

I'm wondering, Justice Rumple, Julie's crumpet & I jump lectures all had 13 letters, how come lucre upsets Jim had an extra s there? Any logical reasons behind that?:?:
