The comeback of brainteasers

Anything goes, but keep it seemly...

Is it rhythm then?

The numbers are not a rythm, they are not musical at all.
Advance note to finish this off you will need a word like rythm. But we are not at that stage yet.

my chain of thoughts now are going as follows:

It is a singer/band

The numbers represent the number of songs per album released by that singer.

The swap might be related to the chronological order

As you've indicated that that there is some maths in it, then I'm totally wrong ... just wanted to put it in typing.

The numbers themselves are definitely not musical. You should have a feeling of Deja Vue about those.

However the alteration in the order is linked to the song.

The order might have a geographic connection, but labelling rather than coordinates.

This is a tough one hope you are all having fun.

This is not a Beach Boys song, they covered one of my others.
The reference to previous teasers are the ones I set.

:idea:The numbers are the numbers of somethings in each state as some road crosses the US from East to West

I knew the last clue would help. Bigtone53 you are getting nearer you have already given a key number. Now remember how you kicked yourself when you missed 1,1,1,1,1,1,1.

The digits label points on the way, there may be more than one in each state though.

Hmm, football/soccer and USA. Is the MLS (Major League Soccer) relevant?:?:

Euro2008 is underway. I'll go out on a limb and predict Germany as the ultimate winner. I'm sick of all those English fans who support Portugal because of the CR7/ManU connection.:( (Wrong thread?:D )

Of the American sports, I only care about the NBA and the MLB. Tomorrow we have game 2 of Lakers-Celtics.

Also I hope Federer beats Nadal tonight.:)

I think we've exhausted all football clues now. You have a number that is related to the series and the way that it is related will sort the Geography out.

Bit more help Matt's factorization 1,1,2,1,2 etc would take you from Cambridge, Mass towards Quebec. Hope this helps, as this series is a bit more recognizable.

If you think it's over it might not be unless I give you the final hint:
She was found out of order on December 12th 2001.
