Good point, Pat.

Is the Results topic somehow protected?
I see only the referee posts there, and if its permissions were location-dependent it is possible forum to reject its attempts to post in Results.
Just a guess.

g.r.emlin is crashing. Each time it is restarted it check points back to announcing the new game and then crashes before posting about the previous game for the results topic.

Glenn thought he would get around to looking into things last weekend, but ended up not having enough time.

In the mean time, I have been reading the code hoping to figure out what is going wrong, but I haven't make any real progress so far. Each time I try some experiment or fix it posts the new game announcement again, and crashes again.

noexec mounting flag for /tmp and /run directories?
executable flag for the script(s)?
version and configuration of the interpreter (bash/python?)
environment vars, locales?

comparing log files to old ones if such exist?
step-by-step execution?

This won't help. g.r.emlin is crashing trying to finish the last game and start the current game. It never gets far enough to even look at any of the posts you have made in the current game. It hasn't noticed that you are playing, it certainly won't notice if you resign.

any "resign" is presently ignored

it will be recognized once g.r.emlin recovers.
therefore, i urge you all to edit-out your "resign"
and continue the ping-pong of submissions

m_b_metcalf & JPF stopped the search, and JPF has only self-trumps in hand and can't play too.

Pat, it is up to you to keep the game alive until g.r.emlin overcomes the relocation stress.
