gsf, how did the deletion go unnoticed ??

on my todo list, but low at the moment, is to explain how the referee works
until then:

the referee only sees pages updated on a 5 minute interval (chosen to be nice to the forum host) and not every post event { new edit delete }
an entry in one snapshot of a page and not in the next was not expected

re: preventing message deletion - I believe the patterns game has that set but it is ignored for the last post

this means that deleted entries can be of two types : seen by the referee or not seen by the referee
and the referee can only handle the ones it sees

The message deletion "rule" you mention is forum wide. Via PM JasonLion said he cannot block post deletions for just one thread, but can for the entire Interactive Games sub-forum. He believes editing and starting new threads would not be blocked, IOW unchanged.

gsf, if you agree, I think we should ask Jason to block post deletions on this sub-forum. If there are unintended consequences, I believe the action can be reversed.

sounds like a great idea
it would mean the g.r.emlin recoding was completed before it started
for threads other than active games posters who really want to delete could just edit the message to <deleted> or something
edits are marked on posts and are already caught and penalized by the referee
