Great answer!:D

Are you a female?

Are you a real person?

Are you a particular person?

Do you have an English name?

Are you well known?

Are you an actor/actress (depending on the answer to the 1st question)?

... but we are correctly assuming the connection is with the theatre of acting/performing, as opposed to theatres of war or of surgery?

Are you known as a singer?

Who am I? (4)

Apparently I'm missing something but I can't see what.:( MCC confirms the person is a female in answering udosuk's question "are you a female" so why wasn't my question "are you a male or female" answered "female" ?

I think he's interpreting most questions as yes/no questions, so in your question the "or" was interpreted as a "logical or" (i.e. "A or B" is true if either A is true or B is true)...

Still, his answer provided us some information...:!: We know the subject must be either a male or a female, so he/she cannot be a hermaphrodite, an eunuch (subjected to how you define male), transgender, etc...

Interestingly, would drag queens be considered male or female? For example, would you consider the Aussie "Dame Edna Everage" (Barry Humphries) a male or female?

Back to the riddle, is the answer related to Antoinette Perry, namesake of the Tony Awards, the equivalent of Oscar Awards for Broadway threater plays?

I don't believe "operating or war theatres" were ruled out yet. MCC, can they be ruled out?

Yes you are.
Bigtone53 wrote:... as opposed to theatres of war or of surgery?

Nothing to do with war or surgery.

Bigtone53 wrote:Are you known as a singer?

I assume you mean vocalist rather than a sewing machine.
Then no, I'm not. Nothing to do with sewing machines either.

Why indeed:?:

udosuk wrote:I think he's interpreting most questions as yes/no questions, so in your question the "or" was interpreted as a "logical or" (i.e. "A or B" is true if either A is true or B is true)...

I'm using Yes/No so as to not give too much away.
But in this case, no surgery - no operation.

There is no intermediate gender.

I would consider Dame Edna a male.

Nothing to do with Antoinette Perry or the Tony's.

Sorry but I'm still bewildered about this. Following MCC's answer "Yes" to my above question asking whether this person is male or female then why isn't the answer to udosuk's similar question also "Yes"?

Cec, udosuk's post relates to a single, named person, as to whether they're considered to be male or female, a simple yes would not answer the question.

In relation to your post, consider my answer of "Why indeed:?: ".
