Who am I? (4(I think))

Anything goes, but keep it seemly...

Rather than female, if you had asked me "if I was male" I would also have said yes.

"Are you a particular person?"
Yes, in the sense that I am an usher/usherette rather than a milkman or plumber.

"Are you well known?"
I suppose it could be debatable whether usher/usherette is a well known occupation or not; ushers are found in theatres, cinemas, churches and at some formal/ceremonial gatherings, usherettes mainly in cinemas.

"Do you have an English name?"
In "The Oxford Names Companion-The definitive guide to surnames, first names, and place names of the British Isles", Usher is found in surnames as being English, Scots and Irish: derived from the occupational name for a janitor or gate-keeper.

I try to answer questions as I truthfully as I see them and I may interpret the question other than what was intended by the poster.

Fair enough...:)

It's near Christmas and I won't go all pedantic on a riddle that was already solved...

BTW, there is an American R&B singer called Usher...
