emm, no.

I wrote something this morning that could mislead you, apologies, I was tired.
People are more alike at face level - both visually and sounding; more like two peas in a pod.

The moving finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor for all thy piety nor wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all thy tears wash out a word of it.
The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

But nobody seems to be reading what is written.

Well, shave me down and call me a mole rat! I was pretty confident about that one! Trouble for me is I've never watched a single episode of Neighbours and that's a helluva list to be trying to guess visual connections from. Now I have to go to work and not let this bug me all day!:D

Same goes here... And I've been in Australia for 10+ years...:)

Anyway I give up on this long ago... Too cryptical for me...

I've never watched neighbours either, that makes three of us.

When I decided to use neighbours in the riddle I thought Kylie played the part I was looking for but on looking through the cast I realised I was wrong but there was an actress in the cast I could use.

Back to the riddle.

You have the names of Girls Aloud and Neighbours, one of the names is the spelt the same in both, not the whole name but part of it, it could be the surname or first name or second name etc.

There are two such comparisons, only one of the two is correct.
Ann/Anne is not one of the two.

One of these two names will lead you to a place.

Nadine Elizabeth Louise Cole + ELIZA SZONERT = Neyshâbûr

Where: Neyshâbûr (aka Neysâbûr aka Nishapur), Iran (Persia)
What: Pottery (or alternatively: covert nuclear activity:D )
What am I called: Ceramics (or if it the alternative: The Bomb)

Omar Khayyam was also bor in Neyshâbûr

In case it was wrong, here is an intersting fact from the history of that city (from wikipedia):
Code: Select all
After the husband of Genghis Khan's daughter was killed at Nishapur in 1221; she ordered the death of all in the city (~1.7 million), and the skulls of men, women, and children were piled in pyramids by the Mongols.

All very nicely worked out but, No and No.

What does it take for you pick up on the simplest answer. Frustration creeping in here.

The names are spelt exactly the same.
Elizabeth and Eliza are not:(
Roberts and Robertson are not:(

Look upon these names as just symbols that make no sense, and just compare them.
That name is the place you are looking for:idea:

My use of the quote from the The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam has nothing to do with the riddle, it's an attempt to say that nobody seems to be reading what has been written:(

Any more of this Bolshevikism then I will keep you after school and set you a 2000 word essay on simplicity:) , just joking.

No, I don't think so, it's not the word I'm after, I'll have to look this up and get back to you.

It's been a bit of a struggle but - The final answers are:

Kimberley.
Cave paintings.
Bradshaws.

I'm no expert of these either, so well done Udosuk.

Geez, the last few days I've already given up... It took days for people to realise exactly what MCC described as "2 names leading to 1 place"...

And I doubt many people outside Australia know Kimberley is a region in Western Australia, let alone those Aboriginal art stuffs (I myself had to google and wiki them up)... So did you tailor-make this one for me or Cec, especially I had a few near misses in the past?:) Guess I just stole one... Still thinking my original try of "Welsh Dance" being more exciting though...:D

And I was about to add on the Aboriginal term of this art "Gwion Gwion" (meaning "before our time") from this source...:D

And almost forgot... Thanks MCC for the nice puzzle... Broke the duck now and feeling less frustrated...:D

There's also a set of rock painting art forms near Kimberely, South Africa (near where the diamonds come from) so what makes the Oz solution unique?:
