What am I? (20)

Anything goes, but keep it seemly...

What am I? (20)

Too single flat grey tree, swimming treacle, through absolute silence.

Not to worry Cec, I'm sure someone will have an:idea: that will lead them to this one-word answer.

But in the meanwhile - don't be afraid to ask questions - no matter how obscure or naive they might be, they'll probably be wrong:( but may help to narrow things down:D

Do we take one letter from each word to form an answer?

Is changing each word in some particular way related to the answer?

treacle = t reac le = acer = maple

silver maple = grey tree

swimming treacle = maple syrup

a single flat is a one-shot coffee (yup it is)

a too single flat would be … a bad decaf

and it’s very hot in London … so ...

In absolute silence MCC stirred maple syrup into his no-cal decaf frappuccino...

Is there a one word term for a bad opening sentence?

If not my answer is Bulwer- Lytton:D

Who needs maple syrup, I'm sweet enough.

You could say that's the word I'm looking for.

It's London, it's 09:22, and it's too hot to think - an absolute silence invades that space where my brain is to be found - to think of a more appropiate response to this - the weather people say it's going to be hot, hot, hot, hot enough to fry those eggs you've bought as you take them from the boot of your car and before you put them in the fridge.

I should say that the answer to this, is no.

While it's frying hot in London, it's freezing cold in Sydney these few days...:(

I googled "swimming treacle", and the last one of the 3 hits returned titled "Sexual Pleasure Enhancement Position Photos"... For some reason I lost all the mood to continue searching...:(

I'll take cold any day, it's due to be anywhere between 28 and 32 here in Scotland and that's during the Fair Fortnight (when it traditionally rains harder than it's ever rained before, which is saying something). I'm feeling decidely alien today - too hot and no rain, gee this global warming is something else.

Udosuk had grown weary
Visiting web sites, oh so leary
Swimming treacle, one supposes
Is of women in lewd poses
Leaving one quite sticky and teary.

It has grown too hot to think straight. It's not just the heat but the humidity in London that saps the will to think.

By the way, there's a clue in the limerick:?:

(Ringing bell) Oh Yea, Oh Yea, Oh Yea - if you haven't a clue I'm selling some - 10 clues for a penny or one clue for a pound.

Who am I hinting at, to get you to this one word.
How about the following quote, which, of course, is quite absurd.

-----------------------sea
-----------------------boat,
-----------------------money,
-----------------------note.
---------------------- above
-----------------------guitar,
-----------------------love,
-----------------------are.
