Apparently, in the Book of Revelations (the Bible, just in case it's not perfectly clear) 666 is said to be the number of the Devil/AntiChrist/Beast and indicates the end of the world. Information on this here.

Not, to the best of my memory, related to the Da Vinci Code (and I have read it!) but I do know that today is the release date for the remake of the film The Omen - saw the originals and they were scary enough

- which is more than appropriate (i.e 06/06/06) since it is about the AntiChrist (called Damien!)

Clue: The title shows the way to go, but it's not to see a film.
