S-Doku with Windoku gives no possible solution. But with Asterisk it does:

Next step could be locked sets 78r14c7 and after that generalized x-wings (-5r3c3 > 5r12 linked with box 1 and S in box 1,2,3).
But there is also a hidden single 2r2c9 in hidden constraint. (cells r1c78,r2c89,r358c8)
An easy found hidden constraint is all cells seeing each other.
Part of S constraint (box 3,6,9) combined with box 3 constraint.
6 digits available in 6 cells so you can say that if there is an single left it must be there.
If there are more digits than cells then some tactics work different.
It does not find the 5 hidden windoku boxes (or the equal regions in normal sudoku http://forum.enjoysudoku.com/phistomefel-s-theorem-t38410.html) but this requires more complex code.

These are with "8"-shapes in stead of "S"-shapes
In code (the first 2) because the 3rd 8-shape has no solution at all !!!
And the 2nd shape is ideal for a Samurai

There is also: SukakuExplainer, download from: here. From 'Variants' menu, select 'S-doku'.
You'll need to install Java to run this program.
