As forecasted by pat, he disappeared from the final summary.

I am really impressed by the number of "diamonds" in the present game.

I don't know what is the speed of the computer used by the three players, but with a simple PC, the chances to just not be trumped seem very small ... and the time you find a Diamond pattern, the game has good chances to be over.

After a one day search, I only got one diamond (3.8 ) and my maximum ER was 9.7.

I have 53 different ER, but all of them except the diamond would have been trumped.

Not yet very positive to post something

I'm sure he will be disappointed:D

For this game I'm using 2 computers :
  • Intel Core TM2 Quad 2.4 GHz
  • Intel TM2 Duo 3.16 GHZ
But both computers are running other programs not related to the Patterns Game at the same time.

I think a better way to get a benchmark of the research is the number of rated puzzles with Sudoku Explainer.
Up to now I've rated 136,000 puzzles with it.

The key work is definitely before the rating.

No surprise for me in your answer. I guess that on top of it, being the dealer, you had already a reasonable stock of "Diamonds":D:D

With a unique PC of about 2 GHZ dual core, I am far from that. This will force me first to improve my process, but if I want to join your group, I will have to add some power anyway, with nearly no chance to win at the end, but that's not my motivation to work on that topic.

thanks for your answer

If you really believe that, my best advice is to not participate.

this was a great deal JPF
it certainly kept the referee busy validating the hight ratings

some players consistently get the higher ratings
haven't figured that one out yet

I just updated the rules with an Etiquette entry
although the rules have grown, the game ultimately relies on good behavior
its important for new players to understand that
if there's anything to add/change with regards to that let me know

although I doubt I will compete to win the game, I fully agree with your "etiquette entry" and I apologize for my unfair remark
