g.r.emlin is no longer reliable wrt to timing. It often waits more than 48 hours instead of 24 before terminating a game. So there's still time for someone to sacrifice themselves!

That's right - and when I last played I was thoroughly shown up by better players!

Both games that I played have been at times when I was experimenting with puzzle-generation methods for my involvement in the competitive Sudoku scene - the Patterns Game is a great way to test the depth and breadth of my methods. There are those in the world of competitive Sudoku who claim that the best (i.e. most aesthetic, most pleasing to solve) puzzles can only be produced by hand, not machine, but I don't think that claim has much truth to it any more.

As to my username - I'm afraid not! It's simply derived from my initials.
