I don't know what is a "serious player" but in that field, nobody knows in fact if the vicinity search (the most common process) can find all high ratings.

There is there a wide windows for luck.

However, with more power you have a better chance to find more entries in the game. An i7 dedicated to the game is IMO a good chance to cover quickly all high ratings.

it did recognise the :::more::: puzzles last time ..... but i have posted again ..... see what happens ....

That last game i got overwhelmed with puzzles in the end - and the 2 top puzzles only came out in the last run - so I suppose it is a matter of luck which is indeed helped by mass generating...

Bearing in mind that I am indebted to dobrichev's gridchecker for generating and champagne's skfr for mass rating - i have shown that it is possible for non programmers to compete.
With 2 players the game is fairly sterile - but not sure what happens if we get more players
