obviously, it is very very difficult to have a morph independent rating.

Serate rates the morph as it is submitted by the user.
I had the feeling that gremlin was doing the same, so a user could be caught as "duplicate puzzle" , but not as "invalid SE rating " in case another morph would be rated differently.

This appeared several times in the past;


To kill that anomaly, the only way I have in mind is to rate everywhere the cananical form of the puzzle.

BTW, i don't understand the canonical form used by gremlin. And I don't understand why you have been caught unless the process of gremlin changed.

I got caught because my process changed
for self-consistency my search runs se on the -f%#0c output of my solver
this form maps the grid onto the minlex canonical solution grid
I get caught when the se rating for -f%#0c differs from the submitted grid
next game I'll put an extra check to avoid that

I have had a bit of time off between employers to tinker -- that will change in the new year ...
