Maybe. But it's also up to the crazy rating system for puzzles like:

BTW: Is the latest version of serate at gsf's website? The "About" feature lists 1.2.1 .

I haven't got time to test the first puzzle you show above, but serate rates glenn's puzzle at 8.1/1.2/1.2 as shown in his post.

I can't remember, but i think serate gives ER = 20 for invalid puzzles - at least for puzzles it can't rate.

So you are maybe calling it incorrectly.

I believe 1.2.1 is the version used here in the patterns game, which may change later once the dust has settled in the serate clone thread.

I have to run, but we could take this to the strategy thread later?

hey Danny
"20.0" means "unsolvable" w.r.t. the methods/constraints in scope
in your case you specified --diamond --pearl which means "give up if the puzzle can't possible be a diamond (or pearl)"
some people use these options to filter their cache
try without the options

Thanks for letting me know that --diamond and --pearl are not necessary to rate a puzzle.
