It's quite a find !

It took me some time to realize that you had posted a new one.
Anyway, I don't have any new rating to propose for the moment.
I'm stuck with many 7.1:)

Hard pattern, that is a fact. Any other ER ratings ? Yes !
Next pattern will be 24 clues, easier ? more ER ratings ? Maybe !

JPF, may I start a new game ?

Congratulations again TTHsieh:)

Yes, of course, you may start a new game.

But I'm not sure to be able to participate to the next pattern race , as with these rules, the game is too time-demanding.
Holidays are over:(

I hope somebody will take up the challenge.

New pattern : 24 clues, 5 empty units.
How many different ER ratings will be explored ? Let's see.

ER 1.7

Is there a way to check a batch of puzzles to see if they are minimal?

If there is, could it be put into the first message of this thread?

Thanks. I wanted to play before but finding minimals is a pain for me.

I believe the ".m" in the output from gsf's program means that the puzzle is minimal.
Code: Select all
.6.14.2....1..9....2.8....5....97.5.......823....6.4..4.....36.38....7.4.1....... #    17 FN C25.m
.864....37..83.1.......9.2..6.3.72.....92..3..3..6.4...1.6...8.37..9........15.4. #    14 FN C29

First puzzle (C25.m) = minimal, second puzzle (C29) <> minimal.

Thanks RW.

I do have the gsf program.

Since I don't use it to generate can you give me a command line to sort a file to leave me with only minimals?

Well, I'm no expert on how to sort a file with gsf's program, but you can put all your puzzles in a text file then run:
Code: Select all
sudoku -qFN puzzles.txt > puzzles.min

and then use whatever method you like to remove all lines that don't contain a lower case m in puzzles.min.
