Dear JPF,
The best I could do was to find two more 10.7s:
Code: Select all
 5 . . . . . . . 9
 . 2 . 1 . . . 6 .
 . . 8 . . . 3 . .
 . 4 . 7 . 2 . . .
 . . . . 9 . . . . SE 10.7
 . . . 5 . 6 . 1 .
 . . 3 . . . 8 . .
 . 7 . . . 4 . 2 .
 9 . . . . . . . 5

and
Code: Select all
 3 . . . . . . . 4
 . 8 . 7 . . . 9 .
 . . 6 . . . 5 . .
 . 1 . 9 . 8 . . . SE 10.7
 . . . . 6 . . . .
 . . . 5 . 7 . 2 .
 . . 5 . . . 6 . .
 . 7 . . . 1 . 8 .
 4 . . . . . . . 3

So, barring a second challenger, you win:!: The game certainly led to some interesting puzzles, so thanks for that.

Excellent !
gsfr=99992 for your 2 puzzles against 99836 for my puzzle.

Thanks. It gave you the opportunity to challenge Sudoku Explainer with your 11.4 + puzzle:)

Some room for improvement:)

Can I start a challenge?

Code: Select all
8....1..6
.4.....2.
..73..4..
6.....9..
....4....
..2.....3
..5..67..
.9.....5.
3..8....1

But its ER already is 9.0.

Certainly, but the rules are:
JPF wrote:A dealer gives a valid and minimal puzzle solved by singles only ("all singles")
This puzzle must have at least 19 clues, but less than 30. Etc.
[snip]
JPF

From the last round, I think Ravel emerged as winner and so becomes the new dealer, and anyway the lead puzzle must look more like this:
Code: Select all
 1 . . . . 3 . . 6
 . 4 . . . . . 2 .
 . . 2 4 . . 7 . .
 6 . . . . . 8 . .
 . . . . 9 . . . .
 . . 7 . . . . . 3
 . . 5 . . 1 2 . .
 . 6 . . . . . 9 .
 3 . . 8 . . . . 1 SE 1.5

It's an interesting pattern. Here's a Pearl:
Code: Select all
 8 . . . . 1 . . 6
 . 2 . . . . . 7 .
 . . 9 5 . . 4 . .
 6 . . . . . 5 . .
 . . . . 8 . . . .
 . . 1 . . . . . 3
 . . 2 . . 6 7 . .
 . 4 . . . . . 2 .
 3 . . 8 . . . . 1      SE 7.4 Pearl

Yes you can, as ravel didn't exercice his right...

but as new dealer, you have to propose an "all singles"puzzle first
I wrote:A dealer gives a valid and minimal puzzle solved by singles only ("all singles")
This puzzle must have at least 19 clues, but less than 30.
Each player can post a new valid puzzle provided that his proposed puzzle :
  • has the same pattern
  • is not an "all singles"
  • has a higher ER rating than the preceding posted one.

This week i dont have access to my computer. But i would like to find a new pattern at the beginning of the next week.
