Changing my author's name

Postby Cec » Wed Mar 22, 2006 3:37 am

I am currently registered as "cecbevwr". Can I change this to "Cec" - if so how do I do this. Thank you.

You could come back as a new user called Cec. You could reinvent yourself!

PS : Not that we'd want you to.:D

Thanks em but I think one "Cec" is enough.:) Purely to simplify typing - you'll even be able to spell my "new" name backwards and still no mistake!

I'm thinking of changing my name too Cec - it seems that a 2 character user name is no good in this forum. (Scott are you still on to this or are you ZZZzzzzzing?)

A palindrome is a good idea. The only one I remember is Evil Olive. Watch this space!

"Able was I ere I saw Elba."

Not much good for a username though.

The above posts are certainly interesting but PLEASE can somebody answer my initial question as to whether I can change my registered "author's" name to "Cec" without losing my history.

If I change to a 3 character username will I get my history back? Or is it irretrievable?

Not sure, em. The two-character limitation appears to be something we have to live with. I haven't found anything specific about it either way, so not 100% on that.

I'll do some research on name changes and any adverse effects...

Thanks - I'll see if Cec suffers any adverse effects!

The administrator (Pappocom) can choose whether or not to allow name changes. I believe that that option is disabled here.

The administrator can still change a name (i think a password change is also required) and then you don't loose any history
