How about a different color number, or background color, in a cell where a wrong initial entry has been made? At the present time there is no difference between a cell where one has made eight wrong guesses and one where logic has indicated the correct initial choice. Maybe even add a counter to show how many incorrect entries were made.

I take it you haven't discovered the 'Flag wrong ones' in the 'View'->'Game Options'->'General 2: Hall of Fame' menu then?
