What happened to "gould"?

Postby QBasicMac » Sun Jan 08, 2006 10:41 pm

I used to get notifications from "gould" that a thread I am interested in has a change.

Now I get a blank in the sender field, (Sender Unspecified).

This is bad. What about spam filters that only allow messages from certain sources? What about sorting on source?

If you made that change because "gould" is no longer around and anyway you didn't want to specify a given individual, how about making up a bogus source name such as "Sudoku". That would serve as well as "gould" and wouldn't have to be changed.

so it's not just me then. Yes, I'd prefer a sender in there - Moderator or Pappocom or Sudoku would be fine.

My best guess is that the configuration was a bit modified due to the Security Breach.

(Also note that 'gould' refers to Wayne Gould (AKA Pappocom) and (I guess) Scott Gould (AKA Son Of Pappocom).)

I can understand Administrator and Moderator - but who does Animator refer to?

The MVP rank was created early June (2005) (by Pappocom).

Possible explanations/synonyms: Valued Advisor, Most Valuable Professional (mentioned by Simes in this post), Most Valuable Player, ...

Appears to be the case. I've repopulated the field in question.

Great. Hope it takes effect. So far no change. (patience, my son)

Perhaps you should go to your Profile and check the option: 'Always notify me of replies'?:)
