Hitting a puzzle this simple over the head with forcing chains/bifurcation for the purpose of anything other that demonstration seems way inelegant at best. I've always been under the impression that we are above techniques that are difficult to to distinguish from guessing. We do draw the line somewhere, don't we?

I prefer the silk purse over the sow's ear, regardless of how much lip gloss is applied to the latter.

Oh please, let everyone solve as she/he likes. Saying nice to what you like is enough. Criticising correct solutions, you don't like for whatever reasons, is just trash feed.
The reason i never joined the Eureka forum is just that it was poisened by people, who primarily wanted to fight about solution techniques rather than enjoying them.
