I'm stuck - can anyone help?

On the third attempt, I've managed to complete all four corner puzzles (all logically filled in without guessing), but the centre one seems impossible even though you have the four corner squares completed. You can dub in the numbers in the squares that already had the 9, 2, 4 and 3 but it doesn't help as there are still too many possibilities for the middle square.

My centre puzzle is as follows:

8 5 3 * * * 7 9 2
2 7 4 * 9 * 6 8 1
9 6 1 * * * 4 3 5
* * * * * * * * *
* 2 * * * * * 4 *
* * * * * * * * *
5 3 6 * * * 9 2 7
7 9 2 * 3 * 8 1 4
4 1 8 * * * 3 5 6

Thanks

I'm as stuck as you are. I've eliminated the 5's from columns 4 and 6 in box 5, but then I see nothing else.

Hi Cathy

You haven't put in the numbers given for box 5, i.e. 6 (top left corner), 9 (top right), 8 (bottom left) and 1 (bottom right). These could be quite useful!

Well that certainly would have been helpful but I'm sure those numbers weren't printed in our edition of Saturday's Times!! Box 5 was completely empty. Will put those in and see if I can finish it now.

Thanks

Done it. Missing numbers sure make it harder!
