Here is a Samurai puzzle with multiple modes (different rules in each sub-grid).

Arbitrary house specifications are featured heavily - these are nothing new, they are implicit in various existing variants, such as Diagonals, Girandola, Killer (the cages), etc ...

There is a full description of AH's and this puzzle over at SudokuSolvers, where I first posted this, so I won't repeat it all here.

It is in fact minimal, not that this necessarily means hard, of course, but more likely to be so …
