Wouldn't that be termed a 'spoiler', ever-so-slightly?

Not if you post the wrong answer.... or maybe there are two solutions this week ?

I think we should be told.

It's certainly not the answer I got, and I never had to guess, so that suggests there was only one answer. I'd give the Times the benefit of the doubt on this one - probably just a mistype by John.

Please provide the locations of the A, B, C, and D that are referenced in a previous post.

Is the puzzle correct as originally posted above?

Thanks,

I believe the puzzle was correctly posted; I found only one solution. I, too, am interested in the locations of A, B, C, and D.

Bearing in mind he's posted his address, maybe he wants us to go round to ask him. Who lives nearest?

Huh.... and we were all too mean to pop round before 10pm on Sunday evening:D

A was in r2c2 of the top right grid
B was in r5c1 of the top left grid
C was in r2c3 of the bottom left grid
D was in r3c8 of the bottom right grid

Another piece of non-symmetry.

I had A6 B1 C3 D7.. differing on A from John.

Although Winchester's not too far from Salisbury, the furthest I'm prepared to go for Sudoku is the study... definitely not Cheltenham !

Study? STUUDDY??!!! I'll not have such pompous talk here, this is a simple thread for the base, common and popular!

I demand that anyone who has, or may have access to, a study should own up now and vacate! I'll not be condescended to by the heir to a more well-endowed bank account...

P.S. Is the opposite of disgruntled: gruntled? What of dismembered?

Yes, that's what I got, too. Someone needs to drop by John's place and gently give him the bad news that he got the A value wrong...

If only I was the "heir to a more well-endowed bank account". Probably more well-endowed than my own, anyway.

I should have said t'study, and explained that it's only really a shoe box in t'middle of t'road. Is that common enough for you ?

And that's only to use the computer. Surely everyone knows that the best place/time to do a Sudoku is either in the bathroom or whilst feeding the baby.
