Ronin resurrection

Postby Hajime » Sat Mar 25, 2023 2:00 pm

I was on a trip to the past and in Enxio's post here I found Ruud's Ronin from 2007, also here.

A Samurai-X , perhaps not able to solve with methods (is that so?),
but I found out that this 70-clue puzzle has indeed 1 unique solution.

The challenge was to find a similar puzzle with less clues.
And all puzzles need to be symmetric in various ways.

Here it is: 68 clues.
Image
Probably also not solvable without guessing.

Wrong code ! Correct code further below.
Code: Select all
#5/X/B4/N4/H16/B28/N28
.....8...2.74.....5.6........5.4..9..2............7...6....3...8........9...6....
...3..........75.4......1.8.2..3.7.........6....7........1....7........6....6...5
......................8.....61...72...........2.....5.....6......................
9........1.............8........2....8.9.......7.5..8...3......2.97..........9.2.
........7........1...2........9..........8.6..8..6.4........5.......16.8.2.6.....

Mike,
You posted the solution of the original Ronin with 70 clues by Ruud under the hidden text.
I think the new 68 clues created by Hajime is computional less hard as the original but still a very challenging task and not solvable without guessing.
What do you think about it?

Yes to all the above. It appears that both puzzles have the same solution!

Yes, I was confused with the one posted on the picture:

Oeps, in the first post the code doesn't correspond with the picture
It also has more than 68 clues. Wrong code.
Fortunately urhegyi made the correct one... :)

Both are solvable with SE < 10, first one is harder.
