Remove flag wrong answers

Postby KarlRhodes » Thu Aug 18, 2005 6:05 pm

To prevent cheating when trying to beat each others scores, the flag wrong ones option should be removed altogether and the entries made to the grid should always be the same colour, giving no hint if the answer is right or wrong. Perhaps adding a hint button for certain squares if the grid is too complicated as long as hints used is either capped or logged, giving a time penalty for each hint used?

Wouldn't it be much more logical to make a function, like a 'Contest Board', similar to the hall of fame? Some people (well, me for one) like the "flag wrong answers".

How about modify the flag?

What I'd like to see is 3 different states: known correct (grey), known incorrect (red), and unknown (yellow). It gives you all the benefits of having the flag without allowing you to cheat (much). As it is, I can complete a puzzle 2 or 3 times faster if I just try numbers until they list as correct. There's no challenge there.
