Picture Sudoku

Postby simes1972 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 8:50 am

It began life as a present for my sudoku addicted mum, made with pictures of her grandson, but it was a much bigger effort than expected, so I figured it warrants a larger audience.:D

Sudoku with pictures:

Fruit Sudoku
This one is easy, easier than numbers in my opinion, as you can spot patterns easily.

Shape Sudoku
This one is much harder, even though the actual puzzle generator is the same as the fruit sudoku.

The puzzles are generated at random, with javascript, each time the page is loaded. I'd appreciate any feedback, either here, or on the site itself. If you like it, you can put it on your own site, with your own pictures.

Many Thanks,
Simon

I was about to start a new thread about this, good thing I searched around a bit.

The best sudoku with pictures that I've come across are:

http://scholastic.com/goosebumpsgraphix/games/goosedoku.htm
(nice, simple drag and drop method, uses characters from Goosebumps, and also get to play with numbers and no scoring)

http://www.greatdaygames.com/games/beach-sudoku.aspx
(kind of clunky though)

and the Snoodoku, the game that got me into Soduko in the first place. You need to purchase it to play the full version, though:
http://womgames.com/games/index.php?game=snoodoku

The good thing about playing with images is that I can recognize the patterns way easier than when I play the number version.:D

I played a few games on goosedoku, until it came with a puzzle with 2 solutions.:(

I didn't check the other 2 games. One of them requires registration, the other must be downloaded. I've had some bad experiences with free downloadable games.
