Optimization for a dubber who believes in automating things

Postby geabo » Tue Sep 06, 2005 12:37 pm

I dub a lot of puzzles and have found that (after File -> Dub...) every time I have to do the same things before I can start entering the numbers:
1) Move the mouse to the floating "Dubbing - Sudoku" bar;
2) Click and hold the mouse button to drag the bar off the playing field;
3) Release the mouse button;
4) Move the mouse to the number "1" in the top right corner;
5) Click the mouse button to select it.
I know it does not sound like a heavy burden, but it annoys me a little that it is unnecessary but mandatory, if you see what I mean.:)

So here is my request/suggestion:
Please add to the "Dub" set-up routine:
1) Every time selection of the "1" as the default (makes most sense, I think);
2) Positioning of the "Dubbing - Sudoku" bar outside of the area where the numbers are to be entered. Alternatively save its last window position or make it a saveable user setting.

Additional argument: it helps fight my (Sudoku) RSI...:(

#1: Sounds like a good idea. I'll make the change in the next version.
#2: This has been discussed previously: see Location of dubbing toolbar . Let me know if you want to add anything.

#1: Nice.
#2: OK. I have added my opinion to the (dormant?) discussion there, although I feel it is more a Wishlist than a Support issue. I would be interested to hear your yes or no on the matter, if you have it yet.
