Non-Administrator XP accounts have issues running sudoku.exe

Postby tdd » Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:33 am

I have installed the program and can run without any problems from the administrator account.

Other Windows XP accounts (non-administrator accounts) on this computer get the Error message: "Access to an unnamed file was denied!" upon quiting the program. Further attempts to start the sudoku program within the same login session fail to display the sudoku program. When loging out the "Access to an unnamed file was denied!" message once more appears and a message may come up saying "stopping sudoku.exe"

A full new login on the same account once again allows a single use of the the sudoku program ending with the same error message upon exiting the program.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi tdd,

Please accept our apologies. There is a known issue with User accounts. The program does not behave properly if it is installed in a User account. This behavior will be corrected in a future release of Sudoku.

In the meantime, there are two suggested work-arounds. One is to uninstall the program and re-install it in the Administrator account. The other is to change the Permissions on the User account so that the User has the ability to write (save files) to the directory in which the main Sudoku program (sud.exe) is saved.
