killer futoshiki?

Might have been done already, or might not be possible. But I had an idea for a killer/futoshiki hybrid puzzle. It's a 9x9 sudoku with killer cages, but instead of sums in the corner of each cage have inequality signs between some/all of the cages to say the sum of one cage is bigeer/smaller than the sum of another.

It's done already, and very long ago too.

The earliest examples I know are from Ms Miyuki Misawa's page:

... which were created 2 years ago.

Also, there are "Weekly Greater Than Killer sudoku puzzles" available from this site:

http://www.killersudokuonline.com

... many of them are quite diabolical, as a matter of fact.

Pyrrhon also created a couple of these:

http://www.sachsentext.de/en/killer_unequal2.htm

And, last but not least, I definitely remember some of the gurus from the prominent Killer Sudoku community:

http://www.djape.net/sudoku/forum

... has created a few of these for fun. But you need to dig up the old posts a bit to retrieve them (unfortunately the search engine doesn't work there:( ).

The concepts of Sudoku and Killer Sudoku has been around so long, that if you think you're "inventing" some new variants, chances are somebody else has already thought of them long before...:)
