Marty's comments and my own limited knowledge of Sashimi-anything suggest that a bit more clarification would be helpful. Here's my current level of understanding...

I 've withdrawn my previous two replies because the "Sashimi X-Wing exists independent of what I originally wrote". Thus, it can't be "forced".

I'll see if I can find a a valid stream for r4c5=1 to get -5r5c7. Don't hold your breath. _ ;) _

Addendum:

SteveC's situation where he's missing a stream for r4c5=1.

Code: Select all
 5r4c5 – r4c3 = r5c1 ---------------5r5c7
 5r6c5 – r3c5 = r3c7 ---------------5r5c7
 5r46c8 ----------------------------5r5c7
 1r6c5 – r6c9 = r5c7 ---------------5r5c7

 1r4c5 – r4c3 = r5c1 – 1r5c7 ???

A stream for r4c5=1 that doesn't contain a sub-pattern that already performs the desired elimination.

Code: Select all
 1r4c5 - (1=5)r4c3 - r4c6 = r1c6 - r1c9 = r3c7 - 5r5c7

It was right there, plain as day, and I couldn't see it.
