Thx once again, Cenoman, for a clear and concise rescue solution! I never saw your key node (marked red) because I look first for ALS whose linking digits are single-occurrence only. That's usually enough for a quick AIC and the desired exclusion, but it was definitely NOT enough for this AHP. Gotta do better on my ALS searches!
