The only 10-clue puzzle I found derived from this pattern (and I'm no longer searching):
Code: Select all
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+
| . | .   .   . | . | 1   .   . | . |
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+
| . | .   .   . | . | .   .   . | . |
|   |           |   |           |   |
| . | .   2   3 | 4 | .   .   . | . |
|   |           |   |           |   |
| . | .   5   . | . | .   .   . | . |
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+
| . | .   .   . | . | .   .   . | . |
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+
| 6 | .   .   . | . | .   7   . | . |
|   |           |   |           |   |
| . | .   .   . | 2 | .   4   . | . |
|   |           |   |           |   |
| . | .   .   . | . | .   .   . | . |
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+
| . | .   .   8 | . | .   .   . | . |
+---+-----------+---+-----------+---+ 10 clues,  ED=10.0/7.7/2.9

Note the symmetry of the values 2 and 4.

This must be a curious beast as it took 3 1/2 hours to rate!
Code: Select all
.....1..............234...............5...6..7.....3......8.1..............9.....  11  11.4/4.0/2.9

I had a lucky day encountering this new layout pattern which seems very promising:
Code: Select all
..6...7......3....4................5...1.8...5................4............4.2... ED=11.8/1.2/1.2

Code: Select all
Analysis results
Difficulty rating: 11,8
This Sudoku can be solved using the following logical methods:
63 x Hidden Single (1,0-1,5)
1 x Direct Pointing (1,7)

19 x Pointing (2,6)
20 x Claiming (2,8)
8 x Generalized Intersection (2,9)
3 x Naked Pair (3,0)
5 x Hidden Pair (3,4)
2 x Naked Triplet (3,6)

1 x XYZ-Wing (4,4)
8 x Forcing Chain (7,1-7,3)
37 x Nishio Forcing Chains (7,6-8,2)
3 x Region Forcing Chains (8,2-8,3)
5 x Dynamic Region Forcing Chains (8,8-9,2)
3 x Dynamic Cell Forcing Chains (9,0-9,1)

1 x Dynamic Double Forcing Chains (+) (9,4)
4 x Dynamic Region Forcing Chains (+) (9,5-10,0)
28 x Dynamic Contradiction Forcing Chains (+) (9,7-10,2)

A hard puzzle to find children, let alone siblings, for. My only result was:
Code: Select all
..1...2......3....4................5...6.7...2................6............8.9...   11 ED=10.1/2.9/2.9

[edit] It is, of course, an open-window pattern.
