Diagram generator?

Postby Smythe Dakota » Mon Jul 04, 2011 4:33 pm

There is a free website out there (http://www.jinchess.com/chessboard/composer/) which allows chess diagrams to be posted in forums. For example:

Does anybody know of a similar free website for posting Sudoku diagrams? I'd like to be able to post questions on this forum without that "amateurish" look, such as

|123|456|789|
|456|789|123|
|789|123|456|
|234|567|891|
|567|891|234|
|891|234|567|
|345|678|912|
|678|912|345|
|912|345|678|

Any suggestions?

The one that I have been using heavily is JSudoku ...

It has an option to COPY IMAGE which should be able to copy the current state of the puzzle. You can then paste it into an image editor & save.

It is good for Gattai, variants (you can customize colours) & even pencilmarks.

I hope that this was what you were after.

the jinchess service is really cute,
with the URL containing a text version of the board

psyder did the same for SuDoku — but his service is long gone

      for neat formatting of puzzle,
i use the import box at PaulsPages.co.UK/sudoku/
      — then export the result
      ( and post it within
...
)

      *
      this does not handle "pencilmarks"

dailySuDoku.com accepts the text-version of the board ( including "pencilmarks" ! )
as part of the URL

    www.dailysudoku.com/sudoku/play.shtml?p=
( cells separated by ":", unknown cell spelt "0" or as list of "pencilmarks" )

i don't suppose they'd appreciate it if we started using their service for our forum——

I didn't know that dailysudoku had that service. It might be what Bill was after. The problem with these services is that they depend on the functionality of the distant site. If that goes down, then the diagram is gone. This has implications on future references to the original post

It is a good service as long as it works!
