Very nice.

If your wife likes solving puzzles by hand, may I present her with this one?

Regards,

Mike

She doesn’t actually solve them (yet!), she just liked the design :)

[edit]Nice puzzle though, now that I've had a chance to try it.

Code: Select all
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 68  89  69  | 7   1   4   | 3   2   5   |
| 7   5   1   | 2   6   3   | 4   9   8   |
| 2   3   4   | 9   5   8   | 1   6   7   |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 3   89  5   | 68  4   7   | 689 1   2   |
| 1   4   69  | 568 2   56  | 689 7   3   |
| 68  7   2   | 3   9   1   | 68  5   4   |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+
| 9   12  8   | 15  3   25  | 7   4   6   |
| 5   6   7   | 4   8   9   | 2   3   1   |
| 4   12  3   | 16  7   26  | 5   8   9   |
+-------------+-------------+-------------+

Probably lots of ways to resolve this, but the one I spotted was that the 68 in r4c4 = r1c1 = r6c1 = r6c7 forces a 9 in r4c7. (I'm not sure what that's called or how to notate it correctly. :))

Glad you liked it. I solved it with an xy-wing at r4c24 and r5c3.

You might like this one too, based on the most recent pattern.
