copy and paste pencilarks?

Postby joe94 » Fri Mar 17, 2006 5:00 pm

Hi there
A very common method of solving a sudoku starts with filling the pencilmarks 1 through 9 in all empty cells and then clearing the inadequate possibilities according the sudoku rules. This procedure is rather annoying and time consuming. Does there exist a shortcut for this part of the work, e.g. by copying all the pencilmarks of a cell and pasting them to other cells?
I created a little Excel-table that does the job, but copying the numbers from the Excel sheet to the sudoku program by hand lasts almost as long as if I do it in the way outlined above.

Thanks for a hint

Hi Joe94'
There are various program solvers mentioned in this Forum which allow this to be done. I use
Simple Sudoku
If you also click on this Thread the explanations will hopefully provide what you want. If stuck ask for help again.
