Coincidences? I think not

Anything goes, but keep it seemly...

Coincidences? I think not

Postby Hud » Mon Jan 02, 2006 11:46 pm

Just got this and was amused:

YEAR: 1981
1. Prince Charles got married.
2. Liverpool crowned soccer Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes tournament.
4. Pope died.

YEAR: 2005
1. Prince Charles got married.
2. Liverpool crowned soccer Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes tournament.
4. Pope died.

In the future, if Prince Charles decides to remarry, somebody please warn the Pope.

At least the Aussies can't lose the Ashes in the immediate future, so His Holiness is safe for now!

Hud

there is also another coincidence, in the UK there is a long running Soap Opera called Coronation Street (Corrie for short) and in 1981 one of the characters (Ken Barlow) happened to marry Dierdre in the same week that Charles and Diana married, and later Ken and Dierdre divorced.

Fast forward to 2005, and Ken asks to marry Dierdre again about the same time Charles announces he is marrying Camilla, and their wedding and that of Charles and Camilla happen to be on the same day, baring in mind that Corrie is filmed ~2 months ahead, do you call this a coinicidence:?:

Also have you heard that Charles wants to change his name to George.

Crazy Girl, that's wild. I wonder if he changes his name, his mom will forget who he is and let him be king? It's amazing how we colonials follow the British Royalty almost as much as our own royalty; the Kennedys.

Actually, the Palace has confirmed that this is complete and utter nonsense and Charles has not said anything remotely close to this. It's rumour that the Press made up, having done exactly the same thing once before - it sells papers.

Interesting about the 1981/2005 'coincidences' though.

Sorry to disappoint, but Popes Paul VI and John Paul I both died in 1978. No pontiff passed from this earthly realm in 1981.
