Clueless Flower

Postby enxio27 » Tue Jun 12, 2018 6:46 pm

This puzzle was posted 10 years ago by Amy Hoffman ("Princess Amy Grace") on Richard Broughton's SudokuSolver forum. I started it a while back but made some mistakes with the pencil marks, so got stuck and set it aside for a while. I picked it back up the other day and fixed the pencil marks. I've solved almost all of the puzzle, but I'm at a standstill with Grid #10, and I'm thinking it may be invalid (multiple solutions). Anyone else want to give it a go, maybe with a solver, and verify? (Any possibility that any of you are still in contact with her and can ask her about the puzzle?)

Also, Para created and posted a modification of this puzzle so that the outside grids are not solvable by themselves, but I never did get a copy of that puzzle, and the image link is no longer valid.

Bingo! That's it! Thanks! The codes came from Amy (the puzzle creator), and I never did check them over to make sure they were correct.

Also missing given 3 at odd/even. Odd/even has 2 solutions can find, is there a single solution with logic for this one? All other grids are solved with solver.

Hmmm. . . you're right. I managed to solve it without discovering that there is more than one solution. There isn't supposed to be, but unfortunately, the puzzle creator isn't around anymore to fix it. Evidently I came up with the correct answers in the center box, or it would have thrown off the "clueless" flower portion of the puzzle.
