How about an icon on the main screen (or use a function key) that you could click/hit part way through a solution to see if any errors had been made so far. (Its a bit of a pain getting to the Hall of Fame Options to click on/off the flag that is there.)

and how about a 'yes/no' overall response option, so that the program doesn't show where a mistake was made, but rather that there is at least one present.
