Hmm. To me it seems that you'd only eliminate 7r3c3 with that chain. Right? How about something like:

(78)r89c3 = (48)r9c37 - r8c8 = (8,6)r3c83 => -78 r3c3; stte

Edit: added the comma for correctness.

You're overlooking the chain within the chain : (8) r9c3 = r9c7 - r8c8 = (8-6) r3c8

You're right! Thank you. I think such an intention should be clearly marked, however. Too bad there's no standard for that, but personally I use '@' to mark any embedded end points (last used here in Step 4). In a normally written AIC I only consider the actual ones, and I don't think anything else is a fair assumption. Anyhow, I don't think there's any need for such extensions here because the chain can be easily written normally with the (78)r89c3 node as the other end point (mine was just one example).

Almost hidden triple...
HT(278)r9c379 = 2r9c4 - (2=46)r7c34 - r3c3 = r3c8 - (6=8)r8c8 - r8c23 = 8r9c3 => - 4r9c3; stte

ADDED:
There's also the complementary almost naked triple by simply reversing the above chain...
NT(278)r9c379 = 4r9c3 - 8r9c3 = ... - (64=2)r7c34 => - 2r9c4; stte
