You have Microsoft XML 4.0, but do you have XML 4.0 Service Pack 2?

Are you saying that you do have XML 4.0 Service Pack 2 already? Most computer users don't know whether they have XML at all, let alone which version and/or update - so good for you.

If you don't have it, have you checked out this topic: Problems when downloading prerequisites?

If you do have it, XML 4.0 Service Pack 2 consists of a couple of files and maybe you don't have one of them or perhaps one of them has got corrupted. It would probably be worthwhile reinstalling XML4 SP2, in which case see the same topic.

i was saying yes i have xml sp2. I followed your instructions and i get this error "an error occured during the installation of assembly component {303994BA-6487-47AE-7AF6088EEBDB}" then it uninstalls everything it installed so far and tells me the installation ended prematurely due to an error, know what to do?

You seem to be caught between two stools. You don't have enough of the XML to run Sudoku, and you have too much for Microsoft to do a re-install.

You will need to remove the XML components that you do have, manually. Then the XML installation will proceed smoothly.

However, removing XML components from your system is not a job for the casual computer user. You have to know what you are doing. Do you have anyone who can help you with that?
