When studying the Ultimate Fish Guide (http://forum.enjoysudoku.com/the-ultimate-fish-guide-t4993.html, UFG) thread, I was frustrated by the endless exemplars which lacked actual working examples. I was trying to create routines for standard fish, but lacked examples to test my code. Where there were actual examples, many times these had simpler fish that rendered redundant the more exotic fish. For this reason, I have confined my examples, which I present here, to fish that survive simpler fish. I define the examples following the base\cover terminology used at the start of the UFG.

In every case, the starting point is the grid arrived at after removing basics (naked and hidden singles, box/line interactions, locked and hidden sets). To produce the findings below, I used the following order of testing for fish. Within the categories, the order follows the listing below (ie each one has to survive the ones above). Using a different order would likely yield different results. In my solver, one needs to repearedly hit the "All" button to see these results described below. This only includes "standard fish", not "obi-fish" at this time.

Kraken X-wings
When there is a fin that is remote, ie not in same box as X-wing cells, one can sometimes construct a short chain from the fin to a cell that
"sees" a potential elimination of the basic X-wing. So whether the fin is true or false, the X-wing elimination can be removed.
